Mary Reval began her nursing career in the Medical/Surgical area, followed by Critical Care nursing. Mentoring and coaching have always been a passion of Mary’s as she enjoys seeing others grow and advance in the healthcare industry.

Mary has worked in both the nonprofit and for-profit healthcare systems. She focused on improving efficiencies and proper use of resources. This led to improved engagement for the bedside nurse, resulting in improved staff engagement and retention. Mary served as a Chief Nursing Officer with HCA for 13 years at 4 hospitals with an increased scope at each opportunity. Her areas of responsibility are nursing, quality, medical staff, emergency, surgical, and cardiopulmonary services.

Mary has accomplished year-over-year improvement in patient experience, significant reductions in nursing turnover, and improved both employee engagement and physician experience scores. Mary’s efficiency in staffing and scheduling, forecasting staffing needs, and management of census and flexing staff based on patient flow and patient visits has led to improved staff engagement and commitment to the team.

Mary’s philosophy includes waking up each morning feeling energized and appreciating opportunities to improve the lives of others. She feels extremely fortunate collaborating with healthcare professionals and providing exceptional care, ultimately making the world a better place for all. Mary’s passion for quality, patient safety, positive patient experience, staff engagement, and retention has set her apart as a healthcare leader. With a commitment to lifelong learning, Mary earned a Doctorate in Nursing Practice in August 2018.
